Last week I reviewed A Bike Like Sergio's by this author/illustrator team. This book would be excellent to share with elementary students and offers many opportunities for discussion about fairness, wants and needs.

Really enjoying this novel in verse.
Just finished The Doldrums. I loved it though it's certainly more of an introduction than a complete story on its own. Can't wait for the second. Getting ready to start Starcross which is number two in the Larklight series (steam punk space adventure). Ben almost done with The Doldrums and loving it. Lucy is enjoying the Flower Fairy chapter books (as am I).
ReplyDeleteI read and loved Moo last week too! Have you read Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer? it is a great book to pair up it.
ReplyDeleteThose Shoes is such a great picture book to share with kids to encourage empathy.
ReplyDeleteJust finished "Moo", Gigi - loved it. Took me back to Maine!
ReplyDeleteHi Gigi,
ReplyDeleteTara is right. Moo is a great reminder of our trip to Maine. Don't you just love the main character, Reena?
I love Those Shoes! Will look for Oskar, & will be reading Moo soon. Hope you like it!
ReplyDeleteI loved Moo! Always love Sharon Creech, and a Wisconsin-ite a cow book has even more appeal. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLoved Moo! That one took me by surprise. I've seen Those Shoes mentioned quite a bit. I need to look for it.
