  1. Fairytale Comics looks fun, and perhaps a good mentor text for kids creating their own comics! Thanks, Gigi. Have a great week!

  2. Zombie Baseball Beatdown was so full of things that students won't even suspect. Very true, though-- lots of Mexican immigrants working in beef packing in Iowa. No zombies, though!

  3. Dogs of War looks intriguiing - I know my sixth grade guys would love the time frame/topic.

  4. Happy Birthday Babymouse is waiting for me on my library's hold shelf right now. I can't wait to read it!

  5. I had a few kids read Dogs of War and like it. It would group nicely with Kirby Larson's Duke and Cracker by Cynthia Kadohata. The cover of Happy Birthday Babymouse is adorable!

  6. I REALLY enjoyed Zombie Baseball Beatdown - so many things in this book that I didn't expect. A great read-aloud to stimulate great classroom discussions! Fairytale Comics looks great! I have never been drawn into the Babymouse craze - but they are likely the most popular books in my school library! Thanks, Gigi!

  7. I agree with Holly. I have Los been pairing Duke with Dogs of War. Hey, it looks like we are both having zombie weeks. Zombie Makers looks really cool, I am going to guess it features those wasps that need a host body.

  8. I am so looking forward to the Zombie book. It looks like a lot of fun. I really enjoyed Zombie Makers. I appreciate that there is so much more excellent and engaging non-fiction available than when I was a kid.

  10. I'm reading Dogs of War right now too--just finished the first story. I hear the third one is the doozy. SIGH. I hate books where dogs die, but you kind of have to expect that when you're reading a book called Dogs of War, right? I'm planning to read the Zombie Baseball book to my son next.

  11. Hi there Gigi. Such wonderfully-familiar titles you have here. I am now aching to get my hands on Aviary Wonders. Those Zombie books look like they're enormous fun! And Fairy Tale Comics, I have to find that one soon! :) Thanks for sharing so many lovely titles this week.
