Summary (From Publisher)
From Doctor Waffle, the popular singer-songwriting duo, comes a sweet and whimsical picture book adapted from their viral “If You Ask an Axolotl” TikTok video—featuring a brand-new verse and sheet music! There’s an axolotl on the pink stairs. Is an axolotl supposed to be there? Penguin and Axolotl play a game of cat and mouse, among other hijinks, in this playful, rhythmic read-aloud that celebrates the joy of curiosity, the magic of unexpected friendships, and the connective power of music.
My Thoughts
Earworm Warning!
Axolotls have been extremely popular with my students for the last few years. I remember when this song became popular on social media sites, and the students sang it on repeat. They will be so excited that this fun and silly song has become a picture book!
The colorful and fun illustrations enhance the story/song lyrics.
This book would make a great addition to school libraries and would make a fantastic gift for axolotl lovers.
