It's Monday, What Are You Reading-September 14, 2015

Please visit the amazing blogs: Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers who host this terrific meme each week.

I am hosting a no-strings giveaway of a copy of Margaret Wise Brown's Goodnight Songs:A Celebration of Seasons. Enter here

A far fetched story from a very guilty looking narrator.
Grades K-2.

I plan to use to start a conversation about courage this week with my 4th graders.

Big love for this middle grade gem.

Still working my way through...
Not because it isn't amazing (because it is) but just swamped right now.

  2. I love The Bear Ate Your Sandwich. I have checked it out several times this year to reread just because I think the ending is so funny! Lovely artwork too.

  3. I've seen "Courage" on a few lists - I really want to pick it up now to share with my school groups!

  4. Oh, I know what you mean about trying to read PD books at the beginning of the school year. Impossible!

  5. I love Courage. I also read it to a new group of students this year. It is a fitting title for the beginning of a new year and having to fit in and cope with change.

  6. The cover of Courage is marvelous. How can you pass by that book without reading it? I can't help but be sucked in by covers, even as I advise my students against judging books by covers. Luckily, I judge them positively rather than negatively. That is okay, right?
